Typeface design

Project By: Kanwal

For their final project in the Typography & Layout Course, students were tasked with creating their own typeface. This assignment was designed to integrate and apply all the knowledge they had gathered throughout the course. It provided a practical opportunity for students to utilize their skills in type design, reflecting their understanding of the fundamental principles of typography they had learned. This project not only tested their technical abilities but also encouraged them to explore creative solutions in typeface design.

Students designed a typeface from scratch based on the design repository they had collected, which included photographs of typography from around the city, among other sources. This project also introduced them to the basics of layout design for publication and print mediums.
